DESIGN ON TAMPERE- FIRST DESIGN WEEK AT TAMPERE, SEPTEMBER 2009!
Super Mukava, a Finnish designers’ shop, launches the first Design Week in Tampere in association with Design Boulevard, Sistustus ID, Ateljeekatu and Ovélia. Super Mukava started organizing Designtori- design markets in Tampere in 2008 and as the crowd grew the demand for a bigger event was recognized.
This years’ Design Week will give a sneak peak of future events in the upcoming years. The aim is to reach more and more people who are interested in design, arts, creativity, sustainable development and quality. We are hoping that Design On Tampere- week will make it easier for people to approach design and designers and to learn the values and stories behind the products.
The goal is to introduce Tampere’s design suppliers and to add value to the design genre in Tampere both nationally and internationally.

11th September at 8pm Design On- Fashion show at the Centre Market
20 interesting Finnish designers present their winter/fall collection at the centre market.
Music by TV OFF (www.tv-off.com). Free entrance.
Super Mukava collaborates with Fashion Unit agency in a mass fashion event Muotipäivät (www.muotipaivat.com). The Design On- fashion show is also seen at the Muotipäivät Fashion Gala in
Club Apollo on Saturday 12th .
7th September Design On Tampere- map is launched
Find the top 30 design/ lifestyle shops and cafés at Tampere. Visit and collect stickers from at least six of them during the Design Week and enter the drawing at Designtori on the 20th of September.
There are special offers and surprises in the shops during the week. Come and find out!
The map is distributed throughout the year.
7th – 21st September Display Windows on Hämeenkatu
Design takes over the display windows on the main street and around the city centre. Displays are available for everyone. Products and talented craftsmanship from local shops and designers are displayed for two weeks. Windows are organized by Sisustus ID.
17th September Guerrilla Lighting show
The route starts at 8pm from Frenckell square and ends at Klubi at approx. 9.30pm.
50 designers and their friends light up exciting buildings at the city centre. Come and see the miraculous lighting spectacle for free. Afterwards enter Club Vintage and Guerrilla Afterparty at Klubi (www.klubi.net). Tampere Guerrilla Lighting show is directed and designed by Annukka Larsen and students from TTVO.
19th and 20th September Designtori- design market
35 designers and local shops bring their newest must haves and classics to the market for you.
The third super popular Designtori- design market is located at the end of Ojakatu (map).
The market is open from 12am to 6pm on Saturday as well as Sunday.
End the fabulous week with us at the Design party at Tempo on Saturday 19th September from 8pm onwards. Welcome!
